After years of providing a positive small-group coaching atmosphere to adults, owner Matt Sullivan and trainer Nikki Sheehan decided it was time to share their philosophy of fitness with younger generations. Matt, father of 3 sons, and Nikki, mom, and 1 son and 1 daughter, noticed over the years that there weren’t many options for kids to move their bodies in a judgment-free zone where kids could leave feeling confident and accepted. They decided to create that space and welcome the kids to Mini Mad Wellness.
At Mini MAD, we believe movement should feel joyful, inclusive, and pressure-free, especially for kids who do not thrive in traditional studio settings. Our classes are designed with sensory needs, developmental differences, and emotional well-being in mind. There are no recitals, costumes, crowds, or rigid choreography expectations. Kids are encouraged to move in ways that feel good for THEIR bodies, and at their comfort level. If they want to be silly, be silly. If they need a moment, they can take one. If they prefer to watch before joining in, that’s welcome too. All classes are designed for energetic movers, sensory seekers, or any child who needs to move. Our goal is movement, joy, regulation, creativity, and confidence- not perfection.

Kids learn a short, playful routine inspired by the story and will share it with families on the final week.

Through a combination of structured physical activities, guided breathing, rhythmic play and creative movement, children learn to connect with their bodies in a safe and supportive environment. Led by instructors experienced in working with neurodiverse children, each session focuses on building confidence, coordination and self-regulation skills. Activities are tailored to individual sensory needs and promote a sense of calm, focus and joy.
